Song for the Seniors!!

This is a little song I wrote for my senior class since I can't be there with them this year! ***VERSE 1***:Same old faces ever since we were little, we all share the same childhood memories, and no matter how hard we try, we never forget these times, ***CHORUS***: Look at our lives where have they gone, ever since back then in kintergarten, now the path ahead lies here at your doorstep, just don't be afraid to take that step ahead. ***VERSE 2***: On to high school, nobody felt new, all the same schedule and all the same faces, now here on graduation in your cap and gown you could be thinking, ***CHORUS***: Look at my life, where has it gone, ever since those times back in kintergarten, now the path ahead lies right at your doorstep, just don't be afraid to take that step ahead ***BRIDGE***: If you're confused about something just remember, you have your whole life coming, and it's you do decide the way you'd like to spend it, just don't forget the ones w

My host mom took me to see one of Thailand's most famous temples! Here no monks will stay, and this is one of the only temples in all of Thailand where this is seen! A lot of transportation in Bangkok is done on the river on these really interesting boats!! This is a very famous statue in Thailand as the color green represents something, i'm not quite sure! Really cool building structures! Interesting intricate archeticture! It was crazy looking up at all the statues, and all the gold everywhere as well! These statues were everywhere!! I was amazed at all the little detail though! The EMRALD BHUDDA...they change it's "dress" every season! A nice little decorated arch-way! Sweet archway as we left the temple! A monk visiting the temple in BRIGHT orange robes!! And some Chinese woman ahead soo cute with their umbrellas!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SONGKRAN FESTIVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
Songkran in Thailand consists of around a weeks worth of activities! The biggest days are the 13th-15th where everyone fills the streets and throws water at eachother ALL DAY!! Traditionally, children would sit at the feet of older people with a bowl of scented water, pour water in their elder’s hands to bless and cool them in this the hottest time of the year, and then receive a blessing from them. And then they wish eachother happiness, long life and good health. But as the years have gone on...it's turned into a huge fest of soaking eachother with water!! They asked me to be Miss Songkran in my town on this day and be in the parade!! So they worked on my face for 1 HOUR!!! In Thai dress doing the traditional "wai" My host parents and I and King Tucksin. With my host dad's grandmother! She is around 90 and is INCREDIBLE! This is King and I with the Mayor of my city infront of our float!! People splashing water on eachother!! In this picture is a FALUNG!! :D

Thai Weddings!

Image
Thai weddings are SOO different from ours!! This was my first wedding in Thailand! We arrived there and then stood in this long line. Then when we got to the groom and bride we poured some water on their hands and wished them happiness and good luck! Everyone invited to the wedding poured water on the hands of the bride and groom. The bride and groom with their parents, they talked a VERY long time!! It was hard to follow! My family: me, host mom, host sister, grandma, groom, bride/host aunt, a relative, and my host dad My little host sister and I after the wedding!

First off...sorry it's been just about forever that I've posted!! :-s Soo, for the entire month of Febuary I was lucky enough to be able to have my parents came and visit me!! It was crazy seeing them again for sure! Funny thing was, the first thing I noticed about them was how WHITE their skin was and how BIG their noses were!! HAHA just the same way Thai people react when they see foreigners! Here are my host parents and my real parents together!! Felt like a crazy dream! My host parents took us to see a dancing show and elephants! Check this out, the elephant is riding a bicycle! We also saw this amazing dancing show with 100s of dancers doing different styles of dancing from all the regions of Thailand! Some other dancers.. Later they took us to another temple! Here both my host families and my real family and even MORE FAMILY joined and we all ate dinner together!! On this mountian is a huge engraved gold painting of Bhudda, it was spectacular!
